How to get rid Isolation and Loneliness during Quarantine

Not everyone can handle social distancing and isolation, the workers and travelers have always been one for the outdoors – and so naturally, feelings of loneliness and stress may arise and in worst-case scenarios major depression.

Rely on God Almighty

"…Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest"
 — Qur'an 13: 28

In the name of God - Allah, to the believers of Allah, the only one God, a remedy is bound to achieve it's full healing properties when we implement truth and faith into our hearts. It is our loving obligation to have a firm belief in God and that God is the healer (Ash Shaafee), and belief in his 99 names — that everything in this universe is created for a reason.

For every believer, our first step to healing the heart, soul and mind is firm belief and trust in God. Hence, the Quran has always been our answer.

"There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment." [The following addition exists in Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi: "There is no cure for only one illness." He was asked, "What disease is it?" he answered: "Old age."

— [Bukhari, Tibb 1, Abu Dawud, Tibb 1, (3855); Tirmidhi, Tibb 2, (2039); Ibn Majah, Tibb 1, (3436)]

Something that I've personally learnt from my past due to a scary illness, is that not every illness, needs a specific remedy. Perhaps, your illness may be cured by drinking water. And so the cure to your illness was water!

Spend your time Wisely

Like I always like to say, time is precious. Do some good even if the deed were a grain of sand. In your eyes, a small deed may seem inadequate but only God knows the merits of your deeds.

Narrated Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little."

— [Sahih al-Bukhari 6464, Book 81, Hadith 53, Vol. 8, Book 76, Hadith 471]

I assure you doing a good deed helps keep your heart, mind and soul in check!

Stay close to Nature

Living in remote areas has it's advantages. Nature is your best friend! Go outside and breathe or you could even adopt a few houseplants! Research show that interior plants promote calmer feelings and help provide a relaxing environment. Contemplate and be thankful.
